Float Preview

Every year at the South Towne Expo Center they do a float preview of all the floats that will be in the upcoming parade. It is so fun to go to because for one it's free and two you get to get as close to the floats as you want to. They also have face painting and balloons. We met up with my mom and my cousin and aunt. 

Yellowstone

We took the kids to Yellowstone and it actually turned into a pretty great vacation. We went and visited Jared's Aunt Gay. She was so kind to us and let us stay at her place.We also met up with Jared's parents. My kids loved spending time with their grandparents one on one. We haven't been on a vacation as a family for a really long time. So we tried to do lots of things while we were there. My kids were so good on the car ride there and back. We think maybe now we can go on a few vacations as a family . 

 We rode on a boat out to Yellowstone Lake. It was pretty interesting and they told us lots of history about Yellowstone.

 Wildlife

 We took our kids to the bear refuge. Noah was lucky enough to go into the bear cages and feed the bears.

We went kayaking and the kids loved it. Noah thinks he needs his own kayak now.

Noah feeding the bears at the refuge. They told him to place it all in one or two piles because the bears won't just go to get little bits of food. They will go to the jackpot areas where there is a lot. However I don't think he listened because he was picking up each individual piece and throwing them all around.           

We also went to a show at the playmill, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and who couldn't go to Yellowstone without seeing Old Faithful.           

Alpine Slide

We took the kids up to ride the Alpine Slide and the Coaster. It was so much fun. I think the adults had as much fun as the kids did. I liked the Coaster even more than the Alpine Slide. Our only regret was going on a busy day. We had to wait in line for hours just to ride the two slides. If we go again we will for sure go on a Monday or Tuesday when it's less busy. It was nice to be able to get away just with our small family.

Fourth of July

This year my kids really wanted to be in a parade. My mom lives in a small town and they have a small local parade that anyone can be in for any reason. We decided that we would make a patriotic float. Karly was Betsy Ross. Noah was Uncle Sam and Hannah was Martha Washington. They loved dressing up and the best part was throwing candy.

We talked my dad into driving the float and wearing this silly hat. I couldn't believe he did it. He was a good sport.                   

By the time they got to us they were all out of candy.
